A Look Inside China

Forty-one awesome photos from around China, published in the Atlantic.  A must-see for China adoptive parents who want to know about modern China, not just the historical empress-in-silk-qipao version.  Yes, some of the photos are focused on the bizarre, rather than the truly typical, but news photos in the U.S. are, too!  There are some important slice-of-life photos, too.

Oddly, many of these pictures are sights that our children would not normally encounter. I'm a little disappointed. I was hoping for the excellent photography to depict every day events in China, not to capture alluring sights.
I found this photographer to be able to photograph just as well, but gave me a feel of "normal" China more than the photographer in The Atlantic.

We have a much better camera now, than we did when we went to China the first time, with a couple of great lenses, so we hope to take great pictures of every day events while in China next time. Of course, we couldn't match either of these photographer's talents but it will capture the true essence of our view of China.
